GSUK announces award for Gorkha girl student HSLC topper in Kohima

Kohima, June 23 (MExN): The family members of Late BK Das and Late Gangamani Rai Das, in collaboration with the Gorkha Students' Union Kohima (GSUK), have announced the institution of the Sudha Das Academic Excellence Award for a Gorkha girl student who tops the HSLC Examination 2026 in Kohima district.

According to a notification issued by GSUK President Meghraj Lama, the award will comprise a plaque and a cash prize of Rs 50,000.

The award is open exclusively to Gorkha/Nepali girl students who appeared for the HSLC Examination 2026 conducted by the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) from schools located within Kohima district. The recipient will be selected based on the highest overall percentage calculated from all six subjects.

The notification stated that the student need not necessarily be a Non-Naga indigenous Gorkha but must belong to the Gorkha community. Eligibility is determined by the location of the school from which the student appeared for the examination, irrespective of her residential status.

Girl students who have secured 80 per cent and above aggregate marks in all six subjects have been invited to submit a copy of their mark sheet along with their contact number via email at meghrajlama@gmail.com or WhatsApp at 9612001207.

The last date for submission of mark sheets is July 5, 2026. Mark sheets received after the deadline will not be considered, the notification added. For further information, applicants may contact the same number.
