The Nagaland Victim Compensation Scheme 2012 has been in place in the state of Nagaland.

The purpose of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to victims or their dependents who have suffered loss or injury due to crime and require rehabilitation.

This was stated in the booklet of legal provisions for women & children, issued by Mission Shakti Nagaland, Department of Social Welfare, Nagaland.

Victims of crimes such as rape, sexual assault, physical abuse, and loss of life can apply this scheme.

Dependents or family members of the deceased or injured victims and minors and adults affected by such crimes can also apply.

Applicants are required to submit key documents, including the First Information Report (FIR), medical reports, an undertaking in the prescribed Schedule-II format, along with proof of identity and residence.

The application process involves either a direct application or obtaining a court recommendation, which must then be submitted to the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) for further action and assessment of the claim.
