Harnessing Naga ginseng medicinal plant

Zunheboto, October 28 (DIPR): A seminar on cultivation and usage of Naga ginseng medicinal plant was held on October 27, 2010 at Youth Hall Zunheboto. 

Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, T. K. Sema while addressing the gathering as the Chief Guest said that he has been a regular user of Naga ginseng medicinal plant since couple of years back and found it to be very effective and has given a boost to his health. He thereby encouraged the gathering to put zeal and effort in cultivating this traditional medical herb, which he termed as unique and a rare species and further pointed out that the government would even facilitate financial assistance in the near future.  “Our focus should be to cultivate and produced in a large scale for the benefit of all people,” he reminded.

Earlier, the welcome address and presentation was given by Project Director LMTP Chungtor village, K.P. Sangtam while T. Tsen Kikon Loli gave introductory speech. This was followed by short speech from Chief Advisor Zunheboto Town Council, Huska Yepthomi. In the technical session short speech was delivered by the Guest of Honour Director NEIST, Jorhat, Dr. P.G. Rao. Dr. N.C. Barua Scientist, NEIST, Dr. M.J. Bordoloi, Scientist NEIST and Khumkhothung A. Lotha conducted the technical session as the resource persons. The programme was jointly organised by North-East Institute of Science and Technology, CISR, Government of India, Jorhat and M/S Loli Geotech and Associate Industrial village Dimapur.
