The Gauhati High Court Kohima Bench has further extended the stay order on the Nagaland government’s directive for compulsory COVID-19 Vaccination of its employees have further for three weeks after the state government respondents sought more time to file affidavit in opposition during the matter last heard on August 18.
While the matter was first heard on July 28, the court gave 2 weeks’ time for the state government parties to respond. “List the matter again on 8-9-2021, as prayed for. Till then operation of the interim order passed shall continue,” the court said.
The next date of hearing is scheduled on a September 8.
The petitioners if the PIL registered as PIL6/2021 and PIL7/2021 challenged the state government’s notification issued on July 17 requiring State Civil Secretariat and directorates to get vaccinated or undergo COVID-19 test every 15days.
