The seed of Naga Nationalism was sown by our Father of the Nation late Dr. AZ Phizo under the political umbrella of Naga National Council (NNC). The seed remained dormant to germinate and bear fruits even after a gap of half a century. The seed failed to germinate and sprout due to wrong notion of killing among the Naga brothers and sisters as the price of freedom to be paid to New Delhi. Killing and bloodshed are the virus that spread hatred and disunity among the Naga brothers. To let killed and bloodshed among the Nagas are the twin stick of New Delhi to further their interest of ‘DIVIDE and RULE’ inherited from the British. Therefore whoever indulge in killing and mayhem are the agents of New Delhi to divide and weaken the Naga National Movement. The moment each faction stop killing one another all evils will be vanished and itself will create congenial atmosphere and healthy environment for Naga unification without peace broker or mediator.
The secret open code named ‘NAGALAND FOR CHRIST’ has been abused time and again by both factions of NSCN. The name of Jesus Christ has been dragged and used as a weapon for political vendetta and killing in guise of Naga sovereignty thereby successfully translated and transformed Nagaland for Christ into a killing field and political platform for REVENGE. The Naga deserve 100% to be independent state from political point of view but under the prevailing political condition Naga deserve nothing more than a district within the union of India. The pathetic political condition was created by Nagas and brothers in arms who enjoy killing and fighting themselves like cannibal and scavenger. New Delhi is more aware about the political condition at home than any Naga political organizations as a result there is no positive but negative progress.
The political dialogue between NSCN IM and the Govt. of India, in the highest level, without condition, in the third country is on the verge of deadlock and stunted growth. The oldest and longest insurgency movement in South East Asia has become the youngest and most backward in terms of political achievement. Because Nagaland for Christ is bleeding and Naga National workers keep enjoying killing one another as their hobby. The long and murky journey of Naga National Movement from NNC to NSCN have suffered major setback and injuries due to internal leadership crisis.
It is more sadden in to note that different Naga political organizations have abused the word ‘Sovereignty’ in different ways to suit their selfish interest and the result are multiplications of all evil. Some organizations have interpreted in such a way that they have a license to kill their political rivals and their sympathisers on ground of political affiliation or tribal colours or place of birth. The culture of killing and revenge are inherent quality of every Naga tribe and different Naga tribes become one family after the emergence of Naga National Movement and therefore killing among the families is self-inflicted wound and injuries which can be avoided had there been more rational National workers in each faction. The present political scenario it is transpired that we lack a rational and committed national workers and hence there exist political confusion among themselves and pave way to fratricide and mayhem.
Another formidable threat to Naga unification is that the Naga of Nagaland considered themselves are virgin and the Naga from other parts are bastards and prostitute. The proposition has widened the gap and difficult the bridge the gap. In this regard I would like to quote the state of Mr. Th. Johnson as follows: ‘The Naga from the present state of Nagaland are either Assam Naga or NEFA Naga prior to 1st December 1963. In other words we become a Naga of Nagaland after statehood’. The present state of Nagaland was carved out from the state of Assam and NEFA. The statehood was granted during J.L. Nehru, the then Prime Minister of India with a motive to suppress the uprising Naga National Movement for independence. As a matter of fact whoever defended the statehood is a party to New Delhi who oppressed and opposed the Naga right to self-determination.
Many Naga intellectuals are well versed the literal and independent meaning but they remained silent feigning ignorant because they were born and brought up under the alien culture after the Statehood known as ‘SPOON FEEDING CULTURE’. They have forgotten that once upon a time their forefathers have migrated from Yunan Province of China half naked, centuries ago.
Hunting particular Naga tribe in guise of Naga sovereignty is anti-Naga and itself has relegated NSCN K to the status of self help group or co-operative society for self promotion. The longer you continued to uphold it the more you will loose sympathisers and well wishers, therefore revoke Quit Notice and try to regain the lost national worker status.
