Head of departments to lead vaccine campaigns in Tuensang

Tuensang, June 29 (MExN): Head of Departments along with representatives of tribal hohos and churches in Tuensang district will now be assigned to lead vaccination campaigns in various villages in an attempt to dispel vaccine hesitancy.

This was decided during the Tuensang District Planning and Development Board meeting on July 29, a DIPR report informed. 

During the meeting which was chaired by Tuensang Deputy Commissioner and board vice chairperson Kumar Ramnikant, the members decided on the formation of vaccination teams who would visit villages and campaign to remove the fears regarding the vaccination. The teams will be led by head of departments and consist of members from tribal hohos, church, councils etc, the report stated.

All the HoDs are to be trained by the Chief Medical Officer’s office before being deployed at the assigned villages, it added.   

The members also discussed the approval of COVID-19 expenditure against LADP 2021 earmarked to aid CMO, District hospital and other COVID related expenditures. The agenda on creation of the Deputy Commandant post at Tuensang and training center for Village Guards (VG) was discussed and the matter is to be forward to the concerned authority for approval, the report stated.

Other agendas discussed during the meeting included inclusion of representatives of All Ward Union Tuensang Town and construction of 100 meter CC footsteps at the Anganwadi center at Yungphang sector. Both matters have been forwarded to the concerned authorities, it added.
