Phek, December 21 (MExN): As a part of Beti Bachao Beti Phadhao (BBBP) campaign, the District Administration, Phek organised a health camp under the theme ‘A Healthy Women, A Healthy Family’ in collaboration with District Hospital, Phek at DC Office Complex on December 21. The programme was chaired and by Thepuchiyi Nienu, Office Superintendent DC Office Phek.
SDO (C), Sadar, Phek T. Lemlila Sangtam in her keynote address remarked that Beti Bachao Beti Phadao aims to generate awareness and improve the efficiency of welfare services for girls. She further mentioned that a healthy woman can bring up a healthy family thus her health is very important not only in the family but also in society.
On his topic on ‘What Health issues affect women different than men?’ Dr. Limanukshi MD, District Hospital, Phek stated that in developing countries mother and child constitute 71.41 % of the total population, so health of the mother and child is very important as their population is significant. He also pointed out on specific health issues that affect women.
Topic on ‘Health living- what you can do’ was deliberated upon by Nibelo-u, staff Nurse, District Hospital, Phek.
