Hebron-I Colony declared cleanest colony in Phek Town

Phek, December 19 (MExN): Phek Town celebrated pre-Christmas cum awarding to cleanest colony in Phek Town co-sponsored by Phek Town Council and District Administration Phek, on the evening of December 18 at Phek Town Heart.


Deputy Commissioner Orenthung Lotha, in recognition of its citizen’s efforts towards becoming a cleaner, greener and more eco-friendly neighbourhood declared Hebron-I Colony as the cleanest colony in Phek Town with a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh. The prize money is in terms of running basis which will confer to any cleanest colony successively where the recipient can invest the cash award for a term of one year and restore back the capital amount for the next cleanest colony competition, stated a press release issued by Kedupa Venuh, Press Secretary, Phek Town Youth Society (PTYS).


The DC lauded the citizens for their untiring effort to keep the town clean and protected, he also encouraged others colony in Phek Town to strive hard to be the next awardees of the cleanest colony. While the Phek Town Council sanitary workers who have perpetually keeping our town clean were also honoured with a certificates and cash incentives the name’s were Vepezulo whom the citizens of Phek town call him “commando of cleanliness”, Chizoveyi, Kedupe, Mudovotso, Shepaneyi, Zhosahilu and Shenezolu.


Earlier, Rev. Alem, pastor Ao Baptist Church shared a message of ‘Sons of God’ Galatians: 4:4. Chairing the programme, Avelu Ruho, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) conveyed Christmas greetings to the gathering and acknowledged the all NGOs body and colonies leaders for being pro lively in maintaining their colonies clean and decorating during this festive. She also announced the schedule for door to door collection of desiccated waste in ward/colony under Phek Town Council plan.


Meanwhile, the programme was invoked by Kevichosa, Pastor Christian Revival Church, message in song was presented by CYE Phek Town Baptist Church and Benediction was pronounced by Javitso Lhousa, Pastor Angami Baptist Church.
