• Transparency from top to bottom by one group. Where funds and material are adequately distributed rather than filtering from big bosses to worker.
• The department officials have to take more responsibility by conducting on the spot inspections and holding contractors accountable. This is a very important aspect because you hardly see senior department officials doing field inspection. This careless attitude and negligence is responsible one of the reason why there is poor implementation of projects.
• Nagaland needs honest watchdogs that will hold the government accountable and ensure transparency. So far we have many anti-corruption bodies but no watchdogs that are able to provide details and evidence of corruption. Watchdogs are meant to do a lot of investigation and record all wrongdoings and bring to the public. Alas, in our state the existing watchdogs only bark, but cannot bite.
• Government has employed people and paying salary to them for supervising and inspection for good quality work but that never happens.
• Government should start by stopping all the various % deductions on the work order. The deductions should stop from the top CM, concerned cabinet minister, ruling party deductions, MLA of constituency where work is allocated, chief engineer, Executive engineer, SDO and finally JE.
• The concerns Government itself is a thief, the Lok Aayukta is a slave to the government. What do we expect more.
• The central government has prioritised road and rail construction since Modiji took over in Delhi. So also, it's high time that our government too give enough weightage towards construction of quality roads in the state not forgetting to name a particular road after the contractor or at least a signage that will share details of contract with his/ her firm which may create an impact in the long run.
• Let every parent teach moral values to their children. Let every preaching in religious places of worship give emphasis on Ethics. Syllabus may be introduced in schools on the subject of ethical living.
• Let election come after every two years.
• Eradicate illegal taxation from all the government departments.
• Let's start with eliminating corrupt government officials.
