God’s name be praised!
Recently, we had the great privilege of conducting a Bible Camp for the orphans from 6th – 9th July, 2006 at the Gilgal School, Padum Pukhri, Dimapur. About 62 orphans, studying in Nursery – Class V, aged between 4 and 15 took part in the camp. Their discipline, manners, character, obedience, humility, love and concern for one another and hunger for the word of God was indeed commendable. The heat and humidity did not sap their enthusiasm.
“They never quarrel and fight.” Their two lady wardens told us. Sounds unbelievable! You have to visit the place and see with your own eyes to believe it. They are far better than many other children whose parents are still alive and are rich. Yes, even more obedient and trustworthy than many of our mission workers’ children, including mine.
If we truly know and serve the living God, then we ought to make sure that our orphans and widows are not neglected because “Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this; to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.” James 1:27
I would like to urge all like-minded Naga brethren to generously give material, financial, moral and prayer support to such organisations. For, “… a generous man devises generous things, and by generosity he shall stand.” Isaiah 32:8
