What is High Security Number Plate Registration
The Registration Plate to be of 1mm Aluminium Plate with an embossed border having corners of 10 mm
The Plate Shall bear 9 Character and be Laser Imposed Eg - DL 5C 1111
The Registration Plate will bear Ind on extreme left of the number plate
The Registration Plate will be as such as it cant be removed and cant be reused from the vehicle
Registration mark to be displayed on both Front, Rear and the Windshield of the Car with no fancy number plates.
Benefit and Advantage of High Security Number Plate Registration
High Security Number PLate will be non breakable and non reusable. Any attempt of removing or tampering with number plate will resulting in breaking its lock making impossible to affix any other number plate on it. It will end up in identifying the stolen vehicles easily and will reduce theft of car.
Timeline for High Security Number Plate
Effective from 30th APril 2012 on all New Cars been registered in city. All old cars need to have high security number plate registration to be done as deadline by March 2014 i.e a period of 2 years
Charges and Cost of High Security Number Plates
It will cost Rs. 70 for Two Wheelers and Rs. 215 for Cars/Four Wheelers
High Security Registration will be done by visiting offices of specified RTO with vehicle to be bought for registration along with RC Copy. Separate units been set up in RTO to get the number plate changed. Same is effective as mandatory process for cars in all cities of India - Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and all metros and semi metros.
