High security registration of vehicles under scanner

The article in your daily dated 18th May 2012 about the High security registration of vehicles made interesting reading. The Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce & Industries (MCCI) did a fine job highlighting the other side of the much hyped High security registration of vehicles presently going on and selling like the proverbial “hot cakes”. The gullible Nagas are surprisingly falling for the high technology. However, as rightly pointed out by the MCCI, the matter is in the court because of its doubtfulness. Let us ask the following question for the concerned authority to answer.

i.    How much does the Government of Nagaland charge for the number plate and how much do others charge? Say in- Delhi? Why is the rate higher in our state? In which states this HS number plate is implemented?
ii.    If the number plate is fitted who will track the vehicle? The police or the private contractor doing the job now. Will there be 24 hours service or simply fit it and forget it? For those who had fitted the HSRP why not try and see how efficiency it works. Also, how do you insure that the car lifters do not remove and throw away the High security registration number plate?
iii. How many government vehicles are “condemned” and sold to private persons but still has government registration numbers?
iv. Why are there so many vehicles bearing other state registration numbers these days?
v.    Why there is no High security registration facility in other districts except Kohima and Dimapur?
vi. Why the authorities not replied to the queries of the public so far?
