Dimapur, March 8 (MExN): The office of the National Organizing Commissioner & State Secretary, Nagaland, Hindustan Scouts & Guides has clarified that the Hindustan Scouts & Guides continues to exist and is actively functioning in all parts of the country including Nagaland. The Commissioner was reacting to news reports which appeared in sections of the local print media March 8 where it was stated that the Hindustan Scouts & Guides had been de-recognized based on a letter issued by AK Varma, Under Secretary, Ministry of youth Affairs & Sports Government of India February 1 2005.
M Gnana Nirmala, National Organizing Commissioner & State Secretary, informed the general public, particularly those associated with the Hindustan Scouts & Guides that the letter issued by the Under Secretary has been stayed through a high court order, Delhi dated July 22, 2005 in WP (C) 11820/2005 & CM No.8761/2005 till further orders. The Hindustan scouts & Guides continue to exist and is actively functioning in all parts of the country including the State of Nagaland, the clarification stated.
It also informed all schools and individuals associated/affiliated with the Hindustan Scouts & Guides movement to continue with their respective activities and avail of the opportunities from the State headquarters as before.
