MLA Dr Neisatuo Mero addresses the gathering during the two day long “Pfütseromi Nölhi Mehpö” at Local Ground, Pfütseromi from December 29 to 30.
Dimapur, January 2 (MExN): The Pfütseromi village in Phek district celebrated a historic two day long “Pfütseromi Nölhi Mehpö” at Local Ground Pfütseromi under the theme “Progress through re-dedication” from December 29 to 30.
The first of its kind, the arrival programme on December 29 was chaired by Kedoungupe Ritse, Co-convenor of the event while Lhiwepelo Ritse, VCC Pfütseromi delivered the welcome note.
K Mero, Ex-VCC and Rev Dr Coppe Mero, Executive Director Resource Centre delivered short speeches. The programme also witnessed a “Pfütseromi Attire Display”.
The Day-1 of the event concluded with a clan get-together followed by an extravagant Pfütseromi Talent Night. On Day-2 of the event, Dr Kewelelo Mero, Convenor, Planning & Organising Committee presided over the programme followed by the congregation exalting God through a Hymnal, “How Great Thou Art”.
The oldest man from Pfütseromi village, Kedoutsozü Mero pronounced an Act of Blessing to all Pfütseromi.
MLA Dr Neisatuo Mero, 16th Pfütsero A/C delivered a speech to a mammoth gathering on December 30. In his address, Mero emphasized on fostering village unity. He also reiterated that protection of public properties and Government offices is a must and that the general public must at all times ensure its effectiveness. He also highlighted the Pfütseromi Students’ Union motto, “I netho rhulo, I we rhulode” translated into English as, “Respect your village and you will be respected”.
Short speeches were delivered by Wepretso Mero, Retd Commissioner & Secretary, Govt of Nagaland, Zekotso Mero, IPS Retd, IGP, Govt of Nagaland and Rev Dr Kenny Kapfo, President Mission International.
The event concluded with a demonstration of indigenous games and community customary procession by all men folk which was followed by a mass feast.
Each and every bonafide Pfütseromi citizen were stationed within Pfütseromi Village jurisdiction on December 29 and this historic event has hosted a mammoth gathering of nearly 5000 attendees from all Pfütseromi citizens far and wide including the outside state dwellers.
They also resolved to foster ‘greater unity’ and remain as ‘One Pfütseromi’ under any given circumstances.
