Longleng, August 12 (MExN): District Integrated Strategy for HIV and AIDS (DISHA) Longleng celebrated International Youth Day on the theme “Local Youth Actions for the SDG’s: Preventing HIV and Prompting Health” at VDB Hall, Longleng on August 12.
Dr Temsusashi, DPO in his keynote address mentioned that International Youth Day is observed throughout the world to address the issues being faced by the youths; to bring them on global platform; and to spread the message that action was needed from all generations to achieve sustainable development goals.
He reiterated that the youths are not only the leaders of the future but also the agent of change today.
A press release from the CMO office Longleng stated during the programme a short talk on HIV and STI was given by Litei, STI Counsellor and vote of thanks was delivered by Lita DIS, Longleng.
The programme was followed by launching of Intensified IEC Campaign in Longleng. A rally was organised where 160 participants involving the Local Bikers Club and students from Yingli College and Bauting Government Higher Secondary School Longleng participated carrying placards with messages related to the events theme.
