HMVs restricted on NH 702A

PHEK, AUGUST 26 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner of Phek has issued a traffic advisory restricting movement of heavy motor vehicles (HMVs) on a damaged stretch of National Highway 702A, following incessant rainfall that caused hill slides and road sinking.

The affected section, between Chainage 19+400 and 19+570 under Thenyizu village jurisdiction along the Chakhabama-Zunheboto Road (Package I B), will remain closed to HMVs from August 27 to September 2. Light motor vehicles will not be affected by the restriction.

The DC has advised all commuters and transporters to use alternate routes during this period. Shivalaya Construction Limited, the company responsible for the road, has been directed to clear the stretch and ensure safe passage for HMVs by September 2. The advisory has been issued for strict compliance.
