Hope Academy stages mesmerizing 8th Annual Drama “Echoes of War”

CHÜMOUKEDIMA, DECEMBER 14 (MExN): Hope Academy’s 8th Annual Drama, “Echoes of War,” captivated an audience of parents, students, and dignitaries with an evening of heartfelt performances and artistic brilliance. The event, held at the academy’s premises, showcased the school’s unwavering commitment to fine arts and holistic education.

The program commenced with an invocation led by Wabang Longchari, Pastor of The Light House Church, setting a reverent tone for the evening. Following this, Tinojongshi Chang, Deputy Commissioner Dimapur and Special Guest for the occasion, delivered an inspiring Word of Encouragement. He lauded Hope Academy’s dedication to nurturing talents and fostering creativity among students. 
The highlight of the evening was the much-anticipated performance of “Echoes of War”, an original drama written and directed by the talented Wapangmeren Ozukum. Featuring a cast of 78 actors, 80 choir members, and 26 dancers, the production was a collaborative effort of students from grades 4 to 12, aged 10 to 18.

“Echoes of War” masterfully explored the emotional and social aftermath of war, weaving a narrative that reflected the struggles and resilience of individuals and communities affected by conflict. Through compelling storytelling, the production shed light on the scars left by war while offering a powerful message of hope, redemption, and healing.

The drama was elevated by its stunning choreography, stirring musical performances, and evocative stage design, all of which captivated the audience. Parents and guests were moved by the authenticity of the performances and the depth of the narrative, with many praising the students’ dedication and talent.

Speaking on the occasion, Founder Principal, Sashizungla Ao, also addressed the gathering, reminiscing about the academy’s journey since its inception. She emphasized the importance of integrating fine arts into education, stating, “Hope Academy has always believed in holistic development. The Annual Drama is not just a tradition but a platform to nurture creativity and instill life lessons in our students.”
Hope Academy has been organizing its Annual Drama since 2013, with a brief hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic. This year’s production marked the 8th installment of this cherished tradition, further cementing the academy’s legacy of excellence in the performing arts.

As the curtains fell on “Echoes of War,” the audience rose to a standing ovation, a fitting tribute to the dedication and hard work of everyone involved. The evening was a celebration of the transformative power of art, leaving attendees inspired and hopeful for a brighter, more peaceful future.
