Hornbill Carnival Parade in Kohima today

Kohima, December 8 (MExN): The Hornbill Carnival Parade as part of the 26th edition of Hornbill Festival 2025 will take place on December 9 at 5:00 PM onwards from Old MLA Hostel Junction to Razhii Point.

The event will be organized by Kohima Village Youth Organization in association with Nagaland Tourism and Kohima Chamber of Commerce & Industries.

The Kohima Night Carnival, held alongside the 26th edition of the Hornbill Festival, continues to draw vibrant crowds as it transforms the state capital into a lively hub of food, culture, and celebration.

Annually organised by the Kohima Chambers of Commerce and Industry, this year’s Night Carnival features a dedicated food-fold hosting hundreds of stalls, providing a significant platform for Self Help Groups (SHGs), start-ups, and local entrepreneurs to showcase their products. The carnival has become a melting pot for domestic tourists, international visitors, and local residents, all eager to experience the festive atmosphere of Kohima after dark.

The initiative aims to promote local talent, encourage entrepreneurship, and boost the city’s night-time economy, making the Hornbill Festival experience richer and more engaging for all.

In a special highlight, tomorrow’s edition of the Kohima Night Carnival will feature a grand Carnival Parade. To accommodate the event and allow visitors to fully enjoy the festivities, carnival timings will be extended until 11:00 PM. This extension is specific to tomorrow’s event only.

The regular carnival timings remain 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on all other days.

Authorities and organisers invite the public and tourists to join the parade and enjoy the extended hours filled with music, culinary delights, and cultural showcases. Safety measures and traffic arrangements will be in place to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone.
