Hipfest 

Lauding the Department of Information & Public Relations, Eastern Art Council and Portrait Enterprise, Advisor, IPR, SCERT and Village Guards, Toshi Wungtung appreciated the works contributed by the professionals participating in the HIPFEST 2019. The results of the International Photo fest will be declared on December 9.

 

Artist Corner

The Artist Corner was inaugurated by Advisor, Art & Culture and Tourism, Khehovi Yepthomi. The Department organised the first state art exhibition in 1976. Since then art programme such as art contest and workshop are conducted all the year round. 

 

Historical Heritage Archives 

The Archives Branch of the Art & Culture Department is exhibiting historical records of the State. The Archives stall was inaugurated by Advisor, Tourism, Art & Culture, H Khehovi Yepthomi. The Archives Branch will be organizing the “20th State Archival Exhibition” with the objective of creating awareness on the importance of historical records. 

 

Craftscape

Chief Secretary, Temjen Toy inaugurated the Craftscape, near World War II museum.  Craftscape seeks to highlight and create awareness on the fragile status of some of the vanishing craft traditions rapidly fading away for lack of patronage and facing threat from substitutes of cheaper alternatives in plastics and other man made derivatives. 

 

Kids Carnival 

Hornbill Kids Carnival is being organised by Synergy Group Enterprise in collaboration with Tourism Department. Scheduled events at the kids carnival include essay writing competition for group B&C on second day, Kids dance Fiesta and Painting, Drawing and Coloring on December 3 and 4 day, the Voice of Kids Carnival (solo) on December 5, Teens Kpop singing competition and Baking & Chocolate making on December 6 and 7 respectively. Handloom & Handicrafts 

Advisor Industries and Commerce, Imnatiba inaugurated the Department of Industries & Commerce organised exhibition cum sale of local indigenous products of handloom and handicraft at Bamboo Pavilion. 111 stalls are allotted to handloom and handicraft artisans. 

 

Agri Products Stall 

Minister for Planning & Coordination and Land Revenue, Neiba Kronu inaugurated the Agri Products stall of Department of Agriculture. The agri products for sale at the stalls are from the farms coming from different parts of the state which are geographically indicated as Organically Certified Area by the Department of Agriculture after soil testing conducted by the Department.

 

Hortiscape 

Minister for Planning and Co-ordination, Land Revenue Neiba Kronu inaugurated Hortiscape. Winning participants under State level exhibition cum competition for fruits vegetables and spices are: Kerhung SHG Orange Competition; Pineaple: Rokohebi; Banana: Kidima Village; Papaya: Akatoli; Kiwi: S watila Zhasa; Lemon: Vikeyieno Chuse; Gauva: Vidivono; Cabbage: Njusha Chang; Cucurbits: Matoli Ngullie; Tree tomato: Ketoulhouno; Leek: Kidima Village; Broccoli: Avor; Leafy Vegetable: Baithe. 

 

Artsy Naga Art Gallery 

Artsy Naga exhibition with the theme, ‘Think Art, Think Nagaland’ was inaugurated by Advisor Tourism, Art & Culture, H Khehovi Yepthomi. A total of 46 artists are participating in Artsy Naga. Selected artworks of young artists (Under 17 years) are on display, standing a chance to win cash prizes under ‘Young Talent Award’. There are seven categories in which the participating artists will win cash awards and certificates; one of them being ‘Viewer’s Choice Award.’ One of the attractions at the gallery is some rare paintings of Late Pangikala who was a pioneer in the field of Fine Art in Nagaland. These paintings are 80-90 years old and are being made available for public viewing for the first time outside of private collection.

 

Lemtur Sculpture Stall 

Advisor, Tourism, Art & Culture H. Khehovi Yepthomi inaugurated Lemtur Sculpture stall. Lemtur, a professional sculpture exhibited his works for the first time at the Hornbill festival.
