The new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are sharing an apartment at Clarence House in London with Prince Harry until they move into Kensington Palace. In a bid to live in harmony with each other, and avoid any sibling squabbles, the brothers have a technique of making sure their shoes do not get mixed up — they write their initials on the soles, The Sunday Times reported.
Royal spotters at a charity gala on Thursday glimpsed a “W” that had been scrawled on the soles of William’s shoes. A royal source confirmed: “William and Harry are similar in shoe size, so I think this is his way of making sure he’s wearing the right shoes. It’s quite sweet, really.”
When William is on duty as a search and rescue helicopter pilot at RAF Valley in Wales, he lives with Kate in a cottage on Anglesey. But when the couple have engagements in the capital, they have to share with Harry. The newlyweds will have to wait until they return from their tour of Canada and California in July before they move into their apartment in Kensington Palace, where Princess Diana, William’s mother, lived. They will have the use of a two-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment as a temporary measure until they start a family.
