Kohima, August 16 (MExN): The award recipients of Governor’s Gold Medal and Governor’s Commendation Certificate were announced on the occasion of Independence Day function at Parade Ground, Nagaland Civil Secretariat Plaza, Kohima on August 15.
According to a DIPR report, the Governor’s Gold Medal and Governor’s Commendation Certificate awardees on Independence Day, 2020 could not be awarded due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the medals and certificates will be awarded during the subsequent Republic Day/ Independence Day.
President’s Police Medal
Meanwhile, the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service was awarded to N Chumdamo Jamio, NPS, DIGP (IR), South Police Headquarter, Nagaland and the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, Best Police Station in Nagaland was awarded to Kiphire Police Station, Kiphire District.

The State Deputy CM and minister in-charge of Home, Y Patton congratulated Nagaland’s lone recipient of the President’s Police Medal, N Chumdamo Jamio DIGP (IR) South PHQ. Terming it a proud moment for the Nagaland Police, Patton on behalf of all rank and file of Police department, conveyed heartiest congratulations and wished him a bright and successful career.
