A male model known as the 'Brad Pitt of Cuba' has denied having an affair with Jennifer Lopez. William Levy, 30, made a shirtless appearance in the pop star's new video I'm Into You, which was filmed in Mexico in April. The American Idol judge, 41, was shown cosying up to him in sensual beach scenes filmed at Turtle Beach.Levy separated from his wife of eight years, Elizabeth Gutierrez, a month after the shoot.
Today he dismissed reports he is dating the star, who announced her separation for Marc Anthony on Friday. A spokesperson for Levy told TMZ: 'The only relationship there was or is, is a professional relationship. That’s all there’s ever been.'
The telenovela actor raved about working with the singer after the video shoot. 'It was wonderful. I felt very comfortable. She is a very sincere and fun person,' he said at the time. 'The truth is I had a really great time,' he added. 'It was wonderful to see that someone so huge could be so down to earth, in addition to being really funny.'
Meanwhile, it emerged today that Levy is being sued for 'sexual battery of a minor.' Court documents state that on July 19, 2010, Levy, 'with deception and trickery' lured an unnamed plaintiff, into coming back to the Hilton Hotel in Glendale, California and abused her. However, Levy is claiming the encounter was consensual. According to court documents filed by Levy, the plaintiff 'gave consent to any and all alleged acts' and that the alleged victim 'wilfully, fraudulently, and maliciously deceived [Levy] into believing that she was a 19-year-old consenting adult.'
The plaintiff is alleged to have been infatuated with Levy and wanted his autograph. They also allege that the plaintiff contracted a sexually transmitted disease and was later taken for treatment at a medical centre. Levy's response in court papers filed on September 20 2010, was that the alleged victim 'was at no point, whatsoever, physically restrained' and states that her physical and emotional distress was 'self-inflicted.' The actor also claims that the minor tried to exhort $950,000 from him in exchange for her silence and that local authorities 'conducted a complete and thorough investigation of [plaintiff's] allegations, including interviewing Levy and witnesses.' He states that they 'concluded that there was no probable cause sufficient to proceed in a criminal action against Levy.'
The unnamed minor asked for $2.5 million in damages, while Levy counter sued for defamation and extortion. The lawsuit is still active, but a trial date has not yet been set.
Lopez meanwhile is throwing herself into work following her shock separation from Anthony, with whom she has twins Emme and Max, 3. Looking anguished and forlorn, she was spotted leaving MILK Studios in Hollywood yesterday.
