Dimapur, December 9 (MExN): Tetso College, Dimapur observed Scholastic Day on December 9 at its college premises. It was also an occasion for the college to say adieu to the outgoing students.
The Vice Chancellor of Nagaland University Prof Bolin Kumar Konwar graced the occasion as the chief guest and also launched the college’s newsletter ‘3T’. Addressing the gathering, the VC said that it is his 91st day in Nagaland and so far he has observed that the every matter needs special attention in NU and he finds students in Nagaland more pragmatic.
On his expectation from the students, he said that a student’s responsibility is to acquire knowledge and should be focused. He advised the college to make an arrangement for the outgoing students to teach in less privileged schools so that it will help them to gain confidence and knowledge.
The VC also appealed the college to involve teachers and students in making decision. “I stand for quality but quality can be achieved only with the participation from both teachers and students.”
To make the institute better, he requested the principal to let students assess the teachers at the end of every academic year by handing out assessment forms.  “I see Tetso College has great potentials.”
Moreover, the administrator of Tetso College encouraged the students that it is in their hands whether to let die what they have learned or to let it fly high. “To succeed in life, you have to know someone important and that is you.”
Concerning rampant corruption, he said that though there is corruption everywhere, a person can bring a change, stating that a person can bring war or peace.
Earlier, the welcome address was given by the principal of the college, PS Lorin, special number by Pentilo of BA I, prize distribution, dance by Dynamic Prince Crew and speech on behalf of outgoing students by Akhrienuo of BA III.
