Dimapur, July 14 (MExN): Indisen Baptist Arogo Dimapur (IBAD) organised a voluntary blood donation camp and a seminar on HIV and AIDS awareness for teenagers as part of its Mission Week observance at the church premises.
According to a press release from the church, the blood donation drive was conducted in collaboration with the Blood Bank, District Hospital Dimapur, with the aim of helping address the shortage of blood supplies for patients requiring transfusions on July 13.
The programme began with an invocation by IBAD Pastor Rev Sentiyanger, who prayed for the medical team and blood donors. Church members and well-wishers participated in the donation drive.
Alongside the health camp, the church's Mission Board organised an HIV and AIDS awareness seminar for teenagers on July 11 to equip participants with accurate information on the disease while encouraging informed decision-making and responsible behaviour.
The seminar included an introduction by Akum Amri, an invocation by Rev Sentiyanger, and keynote sessions by resource persons, who spoke on medical aspects of HIV and AIDS.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ningsangliba, Secretary of the Mission Board, who acknowledged the contributions of the medical team, resource persons and participants towards the success of the Mission Week activities, the release added.
The church expressed appreciation to all donors, volunteers, medical personnel and supporters for contributing to the Mission Week initiatives, stating that the efforts would help save lives and promote health awareness among young people.
