DIMAPUR, AUGUST14 (MExN) The Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Cell of ICFAI University Nagaland (IUN) on August 13 organised a special programme to mark International Youth Day 2025 under the theme “Local Youth Actions for SDGs and Beyond”, reflecting this year’s UN-designated theme.
Vice-Chancellor of IUN was the chief guest at the event and, in his address, emphasised the vital role of youth in driving local initiatives to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He also highlighted the need for active engagement and participation of young people at the grassroots level.
Students from various departments participated in the programme, which aimed to raise awareness about the significance of youth involvement in sustainable development efforts.
The event featured an essay writing competition, providing a platform for students to present creative and critical perspectives on the theme. Volleyball matches were also organised, with active participation from both boys’ and girls’ teams, showcasing energy and sportsmanship. All activities were conducted with the support of faculty members, students and non-teaching staff.
