ID card registration from Feb 29 to check illegal immigrants

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 27 (MExN): The Public Action Committee (PAC) of Naga Council on illegal immigrants has informed the public that the former will start issuing Identity Card forms to genuine Indian Muslims from 29th February’ onwards and that the latter are requested to collect the same from Naga Council office during office hour from 11 am onwards. This was stated in a press note issued by Joel Nillo Kath, Co-Ordinator, Public Action Committee (PAC) of Naga Council.

In this regard the Naga Council has once again clarified that this exercise was purely aimed at protecting the genuine Indian Muslim citizens from unnecessary harassments after witnessing that time and again most of the anti-social activities like rape, contract murder, thefts, kidnapping, etc., are committed by illegal Bangladeshi immigrants.

Therefore, the Naga Council stated that it had felt the need to constitute a mechanism of ID cards whereby genuine Indian Muslims are protected through proper identification, thereby differentiating the genuine Indian citizens from illegal immigrants so that the Muslim community is not victimized as a whole.

In this exercise, the concerned citizens are requested to co-operate with the Council so that illegal migrants and anti-social activities are checked in Dimapur district.
