Peren, June 27 (MExN): The District Health Society (DHS) Peren launched the ‘Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF) at Jalukie Women Welfare Hall and across all health units in the district on June 27. 

Deputy Chief medical Officer of Peren Dr Limakum Aier delivered a short speech highlighting the key actions and prevention on diarrhoea, according to a press release from the District Media Officer, CMO office, Peren. Dr Aier stressed on the importance and use of ORS and Zinc during diarrhoeal episodes among children and assured that it is a safe treatment which makes the child recover from diarrhoea faster.

A keynote address was delivered by Dr Kiholi, DPO (RCH & UIP), Peren who gave an overview on IDCF which will commence from June 27 till July 11 across all Health Units in the district. 

During the fortnight, ORS and Zinc will be distributed to children along with their mothers or care-givers suffering from diarrhoea and demonstration on preparation of homemade ORS and awareness on prevention of diarrhoea to parents or caregivers at all health units, the release stated.
