Identity of the Nagas in Crisis

This land of ours is a gift from God and we are to honor Him by forsaking the evils that entices us. The traditional values and cultures that we boast of are of little importance as far as the security and the dignity of our nation is concerned. The efforts that are made to preserve the cultural identity of the Nagas are laudable to some extend. But taking into consideration the crisis that may befall us is a matter of concern. The truth is we are so gullible and that is also a reason why our nation is headed for disaster. A doomsday prophet is what some may label me as but the wise ones knows the nature of the crisis that confronts us.
In one of my article “Strangers in our own Land “which was published in the Dailies and the internet, I emphasized upon the importance of maintaining our unique identity. Truth is, this has to become a movement to promote and uphold the dignity and the unique identity of the Nagas. This may appear racial in nature but it is not, rather this is an attempt to clear the mess that we created. Let it be made clear that I hold no grudges against any one, community or nations in particular. I am only making the truth known that we may be aware of our rights.
The nation of Israel also fell into temptation because they failed to heed God’s Word of purging out the sins from their land. This is the same crisis that we are facing and the situation will only worsen if we continue living life this way. The influx of illegal immigrants is not the only problem which confronts us, but the danger of becoming strangers in our own land is also eminent. The unique identity of many nations are also at risk because of the foreigners residing with them. There is confusion everywhere in our land because everyone speaks each other’s dialect fluently. This is also partly because of the mix marriages which we endorse. When people live together as one, regardless of their nationality, chances are that they may inter marry.
We still have a lot to learn but if we keep ignoring what we learned, we may live in regret in the future. According to the analysis that I made regarding the identity of the Nagas I found out that we are in danger of losing our true identity. It is not a sin to intermarry but losing our unique identity will damage our unique heritage. Truth is I may even marry a foreigner, but the sole purpose of this write up is to create an awareness of maintaining our genetical identity. If there are no law and order in our land, we shall never be disciplined.
There are no many foreigners and illegal immigrants’ residing in our land. I mean no harm to anyone and I do not desire to hurt anyone’s sentiment but we have t wake up from our slumber to put the situation under control. There are so many reports that many Nagas had married Hindus, Muslims, foreigners and the like. The appearances of their children are also quite different from those of ours. The ones who are genuinely concerned about the welfare of our nation will only understand what this is all about. If we continue living together like this for too long, our stance as a nation will only become weaker. We have to understand he threat that confronts us if we want to work for the security of our country. There should be a balance in all that we do. In the future our children will no longer be pure Nagas if we don’t act now. Truth is when different people from different nations live together they will bring forth mixed children into the world. This is not an offence against anyone but this is the whole truth of what we are facing. Know it and save our people from becoming an extinct race.  We love our nation and we have to do all that we have to do for our nation. Nagas give heed to this and do whatever is necessary to secure our unique identity.  This is our crisis.
