Dimapur, June 23 (MExN): The Dimapur District Excise duty party manning Chümoukedima Check Gate based on “specific information” intercepted a truck bearing Regd. No. NL 01 AE 7463 bound for Imphal, Manipur on June 22.
On frisking the vehicle around 8:00 pm, the duty party recovered 435 cases of assorted IMFL concealed under essential commodities, T Arilong Longkumer, Superintendent of Excise & Prohibition, Dimapur said in a press release.
In this connection, one Bikash Budha (30) was arrested under the relevant section of the NLTP Act'89 and the case is currently under investigation.
The Dimapur District team was led by head constables including Allen AIE, TK Medom, T Khekavi Assumi and constables including Akahoto, Khalenthong, Thrilise, Tsatongli, Mathna and Sorila.
