Dimapur, April 17 (MExN): The Dimapur District Excise duty on the evening of April 16, recovered 117 cases of assorted IMFL concealed under furniture items, household commodities and salt.
This was stated in a press release by Tokuho Assumi, Superintendent of Excise & Prohibition. He mentioned that the excise team manning Newfield checkgate had intercepted a goods carrier truck bearing registration No MN 04A 9066 bound for Imphal, Manipur. During the investigation, it was revealed that the contraband IMFL was loaded from Nalapara in Guwahati, Assam and was bound for Imphal.
In this connection, Tokuho reveals that two accused, namely Huidrom Mangal Singh , S/o Huidrom Ibocha Singh, age 25 years, R/o Thoubal, Manipur and another Naoram Dolarasana Meitei S/o Naoram Boy Meitei, age 22 years, R/o Chairel Makha Leitai, Manipur were arrested and booked under the relevant sections of the NLTP Act, 1989.
