Imkong graces 2nd day of AKTM at Longpa

Longpa, January 12 (MExN): The 39th Asetkong Kaketshir Telongjem Mungdang (Asetkong Students’ Union Conference) got underway on January 11, 2011 at Longpa village. The second day of the conference was graced by Nagaland Home Minister Imkong L Imchen as the chief guest.
The Home Minister in his speech paid tribute to the Asetkong range, saying that this range under the Ao area had produced the first Chief Minister of Nagaland – P Shilu Ao who is from Longjang village.
Saying that the Naga Political situation is going through a transitional period, Imchen asked the students what ‘vision’ they have for the Naga society.
Besides, while maintaining that the parents are looking up to the students’ community, Imchen exhorted the students to be hard-working and to be consistent in whatever they do. He said that the hardworking quality of the Nagas should be adopted and that manual works should also be taken up with dignity.
Altogether nearly 500 delegates from the five villages under the Asetkong range are participating in the three day conference which will conclude on Thursday, January 13, 2011.
