Dimapur, January 10 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN says the NSCN-Khaplang accusing the deputy commissioner of Dimapur of fund misuse is “ridiculous” and “amusing” in that the high-ranking government official is a ‘conscience-driven woman.’ The MIP of the group issued a note today in this regard. “There has been numerous press statements issued during the festive season by Suruhuto inmates in the name of Khaplang party, which the GPRN/NSCN did not find any good reason to respond to. Threats and intimidations to frontal leaders is their way of grabbing attention and therefore a number of NGO’s and civil societies have rightly condemned,” the MIP said.
“One such amusing statement of the Suruhuto gang is the allegation labeled against DC Dimapur, which was carried in the local dailies on 4th Jan. 2012, accusing and warning her of future consequences. It is a right time for these loose cannons to realize that they continue to shrink with every bombastic statement issued in the media. History shows that Nagas cannot be cowed down through brutal tactics.”
The GPRN/NSCN said that the disbursement of the grant was released to “rightful institution in all fairness” and the question of the Dimapur DC extracting hefty percentage for herself does not arise. “The lady officer in question is a conscience driven woman and she exercised her authority judiciously without fear or favor. It would be ridiculous to expect the Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur to release the grant in favor of Suruhuto camp or for SS Khaplang,” the ‘MIP’ added.
