Impur Christian Hospital holds seminar on palliative care

IMPUR, AUGUST 22 (MExN): Impur Christian Hospital (ICH) organized a seminar on palliative care on August 22 at its facility, aimed at raising awareness on holistic and proper care for palliative patients.

Rev Temsü Jamir, Executive Secretary of ABAM, in a brief exhortation, highlighted the importance of palliative care as a programme providing spiritual guidance aligned with God’s message. He urged participants to positively impact the lives of palliative patients, noting that even when in-person attendance is not possible, outreach can be achieved through various media platforms.

The seminar featured Dr Obangjungla from Serene Palliative Care, IAPC North East Representative, and Amenla Asso, Pastor Women, Süngkomen BC, as resource persons. They spoke on the concept of palliative care, spirituality, and communication and coordination in providing care.

A total of 83 participants, including representatives from 15 churches and final-year girls from Impur Bible Seminary (IBS), attended the seminar. ICH expressed gratitude to the churches and IBS for their support and involvement in the event.

The hospital has been organizing this seminar annually to enhance the quality of care for palliative patients, aiming to make their final days meaningful and spiritually enriching.
