At first, it is very heartening to see someone writing in the papers seeking justice, but it is always disheartening to discover, at the end, that seeking one’s justice is always at the cost of injustice to others. The press note of four brothers from Chai Sangmang Sector Tuensang Town that appeared in your esteemed daily on July 30 is directed towards the apex organizations of Eastern Nagaland, nevertheless, as a Yimchungrü, I feel it necessary to respond to their note.
Firstly, this is very important, that if you are seeking justice on behalf of the “victims”, you should have cross-checked whether the problem of availing tribal quota in NPSC only by ‘biological-citizens’ was started by the NPSC or ENSF/ENPO or by your own Tribal Organizations. This would have clearly shown you the way, to whom you should be addressing your sick press note.
Secondly, as far as the Yimchungrü tribe and quota is concerned, there is no problem/complain till now against any unsuccessful/successful NPSC candidates. Please be seriously reminded that, in Yimchungrü quota, it fully depends on Yimchungrü people to accept or reject anyone, because, Yimchungrü quota does not belong to any other tribe and no organization has any say be it eastern or western! We can give to anyone from our quota if he/she is a Yimchungrü and deserving, and as long as he/she is not detrimental to the Yimchungrü society. Be further reminded that, by this, the Yimchungrü people in no way encourage illegal immigrants/settlers nor undermine the rights of any single Yimchungrü. If there’s a problem with the Yimchungrü Tribe, leave it to us, we will settle by ourselves and nobody needs to worry about us, worry about yourselves!
Thirdly, pinpointing your laymen’s finger on the honourable NPSC Member from Yimchungrü Tribe, and further bursting out your retarded mind of “selecting an Inspector of Vigilance in 2012 (not a Yimchunger by blood) is from the same Village of the Hon’ble NPSC Member from Yimchunger Tribe (who is not a Yimchunger by blood himself)” is truly murderous in intention and “criminal” in nature. Instead of being jealous and looking with your myopic eye as “from same village”, you should have inquired whether the candidate deserves or not. Mind you, the post of the NPSC Member is not a Yimchungrü quota!
Fourthly, as you have clearly said in the fifth paragraph of your note, you have to sooner or later furnished the details and prove how the honourable NPSC Member from the Yimchungrü Tribe victimized Chang and Sangtam candidates completely?
Lastly, after spitting all your venoms, you note that this is a ‘reflection of what is going on within Naga Society’. Is your reflection of the whole Naga society confined only to the Yimchungrü Tribe and her officers? Do you mean there’s no problem with other Naga tribes, and more so with our Eastern tribes? Never ever pass the buck to ENSF/ENPO or to any other when the virus is within your own tribe.
Akha Yimchungrü,
Shamator Town
