In response to Sao Chang College Principal

• Sir-Apropos to the news item “Sao Chang College Principal Clarifies” that appeared on your esteemed daily of the September 5 issue. It would have been advisable on the part of the Principal Sao Chang college Tuensang to realize the anomalies and shortfalls as pointed out by me and act accordingly, instead of giving clarifications in the media which is contradictory to what I have observed; the pathetic condition of the college along with the Deputy Commissioner and SDO(C) of Tuensang district in as much as naiveness and negligence are concerned.

Out of the five Science Lectures (one each in all the department) being posted to Sao Chang College Tuensang, I have met three of them in the college campus and basing on their expressed inability to run the practical class without chemicals, the matter was pointed out. So the reason that there were no science Lecturers to verify the genuineness of chemicals and some science apparatus is baseless.

If at all the Rs. 3 lakhs has been kept in the college coffers and the Board entrusted to procure the chemical when needs arise as clarified by the Principal, then the purpose board members of the college are the living witness? It was reported that all the money had been drawn by the Principal himself and the purchase board are left in the dark. Controlling the college from a distance will never serve the purpose and the needs of the college.

The Materials and equipment being supplied to the college are not done with the knowledge of the Purchase Board Members as per the confession during my visit to the college.

The issue is, the Principal is not in the station for the last many months. And why is the rejoinder being issued from behind the curtain?

Lastly, but not the least, the press release was issued not by the society nor by NGO’s but by the elected representative of the people of Tuensang for and on behalf of the people in the larger interest of the students in particular and public in general. Mind it!
