Kohima
My attention was drawn on the subject (CNTC demand for balance Regional Development) in certain local dailies. What they mentioned is correct to my understanding. The reason is, even after 58 years of Statehood, Nagaland is lacking behind all the North Eastern States. This is due to the fact that even in Kohima which is the Nagaland capital if it rains electricity goes off. If there is sunshine water supply stop. During rainy days we see only storm water flowing over the surface of the road and we don't see the road.
During sunny days we see clouds over the roads which actually are not clouds but dust which has discoloured the natural green vegetation on the roadside. Thanks to COVID-19 pandemic which forced us to wear face mask which makes all the beautiful ladies look like black Ninja and the handsome guys look like white Ninja. As a result, senior citizens like me cannot recognize who is who in the market place and on the streets.
For many years all the public of Eastern Nagaland and Central Nagaland have written in the print media and other social media that in Nagaland all the developments are concentrated only in Kohima and Dimapur and other Districts are neglected. Even the Backward Region Grant Fund has not reached the target groups. That is why all the 20 Legislators from Eastern Nagaland went to Delhi led by late Honourable Minister Horangse and asked the Prime Minister where is the fund meant for these backward Region Grant Fund as these are the Legislators from this region but never seen anything. Neither the Government of India nor the Government of Nagaland could gave satisfactory answer and the fund vanished like clouds in the air and the region still remains backward.
These are some of the reasons for the CNTC's demand to distribute all the development funds equally among the 16 Districts and develop their own District by their own people. Therefore, I fully support the demand of the CNTC for equitable distribution of all development funds in Nagaland and see which District judiciously uses the fund and develop our Towns like Singapore.
Lastly, I appeal to the RPP to dig into more detail and find out the sources of income of the people of Nagaland who have constructed palacios buildings during the last 20 years whose salaries were just enough to feed their families and the annual income of their parents were also not more than Rs 10 lakh .Who gave the rich Nagas Aladdin magic lamp and became crorepatis within a few years. The findings will be very interesting.
