INC Councillor, Namdatbou, along with all INC party representatives from Ward No. 3 of Jalukie Town, joined the NPF in a ceremony held at Jalukie Town on January 27.
Jalukie, January 27 (MExN): In a ‘major political development,’ a Councillor of the Indian National Congress (INC) officially merged with the Naga People’s Front (NPF) at Jalukie town on Tuesday.
The lone INC Councillor, Namdatbou, along with all INC party representatives from Ward No. 3 of Jalukie Town, joined the NPF in a ceremony held at Jalukie Town on January 27.
The merger was formalised in the presence of Jalukie Town Council Chairman, Hadi, NPF 7 Peren A/C President, Kurangbe and INC Jalukie Town Ward No. 3 Unit President, Willingkhaibo, alongside senior NPF leaders and party workers.
According to a statement, the move was unanimously decided to support the leadership of Jalukie Town Council Chairman Hadi and Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang, with the objective of strengthening the NPF.
The Councillor stated that the decision was taken in the interest of development and good governance under the “dynamic leadership” of TR Zeliang. He also expressed confidence in the leadership of NPF President and Nagaland Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio.
The Councillor pledged to work wholeheartedly for the growth and progress of the constituency as well as the party.
