Lungwa (MON): The NSCN-K has castigated and reprimanded Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio, the Naga Hoho and the NSF for committing ‘blunders’ while trying to bring about reconciliation and unification of all the warring Naga underground groups.

One sided support of the state chief minister and NGOs is the main element that is blocking the success of reconciliation process, said NSCN-K Kilonser Wangtin Konyak on Thursday during an interaction with media persons at an undisclosed location near the Indo-Myanmar border. On the Indo-Naga problem, the Kilonser said that the government of India is serious only in bringing a solution for the Nagas of Nagaland, and not for the Nagas living across the international border and in others parts of the Indian state.

The Kilonser, who met with a section of journalists on Thursday, revealed that they have more than 8000 weapons, which are mostly brought from South East Asian countries.

He however said that these weapons will be used only for combating enemies and not for creating violence in Naga soil. He also revealed that the organization has well over 5000 combat cadres who are mostly deployed in Myanmar to fight against the country’s junta.

Wangtin said that this year alone, the NSCN-K has lost 19 of its cadres, while they caused 126 casualties of Myanmar’s soldiers in a ‘big fight’ with the latter. They also captured about 29 sophisticated weapons and about 16,000 ammunitions from the Myanmar junta, it was told. The National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN-K) also said that the organization will not use its weapons to kill fellow Nagas.

He termed factional feuds as a smaller issue when compared to the bigger task of fighting for the Naga cause in Myanmar. “We are concentrating in Myanmar. Most of our forces and weapons are now deployed there,” said Wangtin.

“Government of India is serious only for bringing solution to Nagas of Nagaland but not for the Nagas living in other parts, especially in Myanmar, he said and added that the rival group is too foolish to ignore this reality, and thus creates factional feuds. Wangtin also said that NSCN-IM may be riding high now, but warned that one day India will crush them.
