The Naga National Council (NNC) on Saturday said the 64 years old Indo-Naga conflict (1947-2012) is purely the conflict between the Naga National Council (NNC) which was constituted by the Naga people in 1946 and the Government of India (GoI). “Therefore the 64 years and 10 months old Indo-Naga conflict, the longest conflict in the modern world will be resolved by the NNC and the GoI alone and not by others on pretention, hijack or anything else”, said a statement issued by Eno Victor of the NNC.

He said it is a known fact that the Ex-NNC/FGN workers, Th. Muivah, Isak and their comrades deviated from NNC/FGN in 1979 and formed “the so-called National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN)” on January 31, 1980 without the consent of the Naga people. “The NSCN was then divided into two groups known as NSCN (IM) and NSCN (K) on 30th April, 1988. It is now 32 or 24 years old.

Thus the 32 or 24 years old conflict between NSCN and India should be settled by NSCN and India alone,” the NNC leader added.

Eno Victor stated that in the same way, the other groups, who set up themselves in 1990, 2005 and 2011 without the consent of the Naga people should settle their own problems with India as old as their problems.

“But any organization or group created itself without the consent of the Naga people is a self-styled group/organization. So the democratic Naga people have legal authority to check and reject the illegal group or organization in Nagaland as the Naga nation belongs to the Naga people,” the statement added.
