Starting from the year 2004-05, the State Government has introduced the scheme “Development of Small and Medium Towns” in the State. This was stated by Minister for Planning and Urban Development at the eight session of the Tenth Nagaland Legislative Assembly.
The Minister said that through this new scheme, developments of urban infrastructure in a few towns were taken up. During 2005-06, the Urban Development will be taking up infrastructure development with a larger coverage of 9 EAC Hqs., the cement factory township of Wazeho, 23 SDO Hqs. And 10 district Hqs. under “Development of Small and Medium Towns”.
