Kohima, March 10 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF), while assuring its fullest support in the implementation of the Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) policy, urged the State government to ensure that the process for recruitment to various posts falling within the purview of NSSB be initiated without further delay.
The Federation would be compelled to take befitting actions in the interest of the deprived aspirants if the State government fails to so, stated a press release issued by NSF President, Kegwayhun Tep and General Secretary, Siipuni Ng Philo.
The NSF noted that it assures “fullest support in the implementation of the NSSB policy as it is in the interest of the students and youth community in the state of Nagaland.”
Meanwhile, with the NSSB well in placed, the NSF expressed hope that all “opposing forces will listen and heed to the grievances of the aspirants and ensure that no further impediments are created in the way of implementing the NSSB.”
The lacunas within the NSSB policy as pointed out by a few sections of people be rectified through appropriate channels and at the right time,” the Federation said, however adding that these steps should not hinder or delay the “students and youth community from being rightfully employed through an open, free and fair examination process that the NSSB seeks to further.”
The NSF also extended gratitude to the government of the day led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for having the political will to ensure that the aspirations of the Naga youth and students’ Community are furthered by relaxing the age limit for entry into government services by two years.
“It has been the long standing demand of the Federation, after having felt the pulse(s) of the aspirants that the policy for age relaxation needed to be put in place, due to the prolonged banned in the recruitment to certain government jobs positions,” it maintained.
