Nagaland CAWD & Taxes Advisor, Kudecho Khamo, today urged upon all the Head of Department (HoD) under Phek district to initiate viable projects for empowering youths and farmers to boost an overall economy.
Addressing the monthly meeting of the District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) Phek on October 24 at Vamuzo Memorial Hall, Chozuba Town, the advisor also called upon public to cooperate with the government and avail schemes meant for the growth of the youths, farmers and entrepreneurs.
Khamo, who is also chairman of Phek DPDB highlighted the prominence of Chozuba Town, yet expressed concern that development is still at an initial stage.
He said that the matter has been taken up with the Government of Nagaland under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio.
He said that the potential of Phek district in Fisheries, Horticulture, Industries and Commerce, besides Khadi and Village Industries sectors, can greatly impact the lives of the people and boost the economy.
Khamo also sought cooperation and support from civil societies and citizens to ensure that the cleanliness drive becomes a success story in Phek district.
Also addressing the meeting, MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu assured that the government will serve the people with love, honesty and to bring about transparency and accountability.
Dr. Dianna Patton, ADC Chozuba placed on record that since the upgradation of the ADC Headquarters at Chozuba Town in 2009, it was for the first time that a DPDB meeting was held at Chozuba.
During the meeting, the agenda for the upgradation of GHS Chetheba to GHSS Chetheba was recommended.
For the new school building construction for GHSS Chozuba, the house agreed to recommend it.
Meanwhile, the house recommended the upgradation of JE (Power) to SDO (Power) Chozuba, and also the upgradation of Executive Engineer (R&B) to Superintending Engineer (SE) Phek, and SDO (R&B) to EE (R&B) Chozuba.
The meeting was presided over by Phek Deputy Commissioner Rhosietho Nyuthe.
Water Resources, PWD (Mechanical Engineering) and Excise departments gave PowerPoint presentations.
