Kiphire, October 13 (MExN): Inter-departmental convergent meeting for immunization was convened at the Chief Medical Office conference hall, Kiphire under the Momentum Routine Immunization Transformation and Equity Project, the Indian Social Responsibility Network (ISRN) in collaboration with CMO Office, Kiphire on October 11.

A DIPR report stated that the main goal of the meeting were to engage prominent stakeholders in supporting routine immunization programme spread awareness on the importance of routine immunization and address misconceptions surrounding vaccines.

District Coordinator ISRN Kiphire, Akumnaro Longchar briefed about the meeting and highlighted the objectives and its mission. She shared about the M- RITE journey in the District.

CMO, Kiphire, Dr Chubala Aier in her key note address spoke on overview of the universal immunization programme. She added that the Department has been putting all efforts to deliver immunization services through village Health and Nutrition days and sought support of all the line departments in spreading awareness and help in eradicating preventable diseases.

Dy CMO, Dr Kolhitso Khalo, spoke on common childhood diseases that can be prevented by vaccination. He also spoke about the cold chain maintenance.

During the programme, four health care workers were felicitated for their active support and role in improving vaccination coverage. The meeting witnessed active participation from various departments and organisations. 

The members also had group discussion on strategies and ways forward where the participants shared their inputs, stated the DIPR report.
