Kohima, November 29 (MExN): The Department of Art & Culture informed that the International Hornbill Festival-Mon Edition 2025 will commence from December 8 to 10 at Konyak Heritage Complex, Mon HQ.
This event is organised by Department of Underdeveloped Areas, Government of Nagaland.
For this event, the Department of Art & Culture is preparing for a cultural extravaganza under the theme ‘Cultural Connect.’
A total of 15 Cultural Troupes are going to participate in this “Historic Event,” according to Teisovikuolie Therie, Deputy Director, Art& Culture Department and Officer In-charge of International Hornbill Festival-Mon edition 2025.
There will be daily cultural shows presented by ten ranges of the Konyak tribe, in addition to performances from the Ao, Phom, and Tenyimia tribes from the Mon headquarters.
Mon district is strategically important, being an international border district as well as bordering Assam and Arunachal Pradesh within India.
As the “Land of the Angh”, many tourists are expected to attend, Therie informed.
The Department will also showcase its book publications and feature an Artists’ Corner to encourage the local artists.
