Dimapur, November 19 (MExN): The International University (IU), Dimapur, has announce a new biannual admission system offering admissions twice every academic year: once in January/February and again in July/August.
The initiative has been introduced to provide aspiring students with wider flexibility and greater opportunities to enroll in the Degree programme of their choice, complementing and fulfilling the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 through the Notification of UGC in 2024.
Vice Chancellor of IU Dr Dipak Kumar Shukla highlighted that the University Grants Commission (UGC) has approved and encouraged the implementation of a biannual admission system, advising universities to design admission plans in consultation with their Academic Councils and in consideration of institutional infrastructure and support systems.
Shukla emphasised that IU stands out as the only institution of its kind with extraordinary laboratory and training facilities to conduct specialised and employment-oriented Degree programmes in the specialised areas of Naturopathy, Physiotherapy, Medical Laboratory Technology, Management, School Counseling, Information Technology, Engineering, Library Sciences and Sports Sciences.
He further added that the University is fully equipped to accommodate increased student admissions while maintaining high academic and training standards.
