Irate NESO warns defiant BSNL again

Dimapur, Dec 12 (MExN): The North East Students’ Organization (NESO) has strongly reiterated it’s warning against the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) for retracting its assurances given to the students’ organization after the agitation spearheaded  by the  Dimapur Naga Students Union (DNSU) on November 9.

Reminding the telecom services giant of the assurances given by it, namely, improvement of network congestion within one month, introduction of online billing system within two weeks and initiation of a separate meeting to solve the issue of the 150 employees in group C and D, the NESO in a press release issued by Chairman Dr Samujjal Bhattacharya and General secretary NSN Lotha expressed strong displeasure that the BSNL had gone back on it’s assurances. The NESO warned that the BSNL would be held solely responsible for consequences from action initiated by the students’ body.

The BSNL also took strong exception that the General Manager’s office, Dimapur was still continuing it’s ‘habit’ of appointing non-locals in the groups C and D. “The NESO cannot tolerate such a sheer disregard to the popular demands of the local people and will strike with it’s own methods, democratically, to ensure that the students bodies cannot be cheated’ it stated warning that it would go to any extend to secure the rights of the people upholding the solemn objective that the welfare of the people was supreme.
