IRCS Dimapur visits Silas Rehab Centre on Independence Day

Members of the Managing Committee, IRCS, Dimapur District visited the Silas Rehab Centre at Khashiram Village on Friday to mark the 79th Independence Day.

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 15 (MExN): Members of the Managing Committee of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Dimapur District visited the Silas Rehab Centre at Khashiram Village on Friday to mark the 79th Independence Day.

The visiting team was welcomed by the Director of Silas Care & Rehabilitation Society, Arenla, along with the Centre’s administrator and warden. A short programme was organised, beginning with a welcome address by Arenla.

This was followed by an address from IRCS Dimapur Honorary Secretary K K Paul, who spoke on the significance of Independence Day. Managing Committee member and Project Chairman Kuldeep also delivered a brief speech.

IRCS Dimapur Chairman Chandu Agarwal addressed the gathering, speaking on the importance of Independence Day and the purpose of visiting the Centre. He urged the inmates to be good citizens and assured them that they were not alone. He expressed appreciation to the Silas Society for its efforts in care and rehabilitation.

As part of the visit, the IRCS handed over rice, dal, potatoes, milk powder, tea leaves, mustard oil, bathing soaps, soya chunks, and sanitary pads to the Centre. Agarwal encouraged the Centre to contact IRCS whenever they required assistance. The programme concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
