Irom Chanou Sharmila – Heroine of Heroines

Irom Chanou Sharmila of Manipur is heroine of heroines and heroes. Many men and women undertake fasting, agitation and strikes in order to bring fulfillments of their desires or to redress their grievances; but mostly for a particular group or community, or opportunity. Instead what Sharmila is doing is for the entire struggling peoples of the Indian sub-continent. A young woman fighting for the repeal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act enforced or invoked by the government of India since 1958 in the lands of struggling peoples single handedly is a daring venture. Six years of continuous fasting by an ordinary woman to pull down the draconian law is not a. matter of joke. Actually, Irom Chanou Sharmila is heroine of heroines and heroes. By the AFSPA the GoI empowers its armed forces with unlimited powers by using which an ordinary Indian soldier can arrest and kill people with impunity. This is nothing short of Indian state terrorism. All struggling peoples of Indian sub-continent should show solidarity with Sharmila.

Might is right and boss is always right

Many people can argue for and against the maxims, “Might is Right” and “Boss is always Right”. But this all so happen in our practical life. When former USSR was at the peak of her power, there was a bipolar world. But when USSR collapsed, unfortunately the world became unipolar world because there arose no powerful Nation to take the place of USSR. In the bipolar world there was competitiveness between UK and USA on one hand, and the USSR on the other. But at present, the unipolar force, the UK and the USA combined, says or does what  it wants.

When terrorists attacked World Trade Center in New York on 11-09-2001 in which about 3000 people were killed, George W Bush, the President of USA instead of taking up alternative actions on the terrorists, he with his allies attacked the entire Afghanistan Nation ruled by the Taliban which was USA’s pet child during the Russian occupation of that country starting from 1979. No sensitive person would condone the terrorist attack of the World Trade Center, but would condemn in the strongest terms; but the American leadership would have had second thoughts and isolated the terrorists’ organization in order to contain them effectively. But a random attack on the entire Afghan administration had actually stirred up the hornets nest.

Secondly, the USA, without properly calculating the destructions, resentments, complications, implications and repercussions, attacked Iraq under Saddam Hussain starting from March 20 2003 under the pretext of Iraq possessing chemical weapons. Iraq was occupied by USA and her allies; Saddam Hussain went in hiding and was captured. In spite of meticulous search, no chemical weapons or factories were found. But mistake had been committed and opened the paradox box. UN Secretary General Kofi Annan had proclaimed time and again that USA’s attack on Iraq is illegal, because USA did not obtain the UN Security Council’s approval. During the war between Taliban and the USSR, the USA helped the Taliban to push out the Russians from Afghanistan. When the war was won and Taliban began to rule Afghanistan USA again stepped in and destroyed the regime. So also during the Iraq-Iran war, the USA helped Iraq in her war with Iran. But again the USA attacked Iraq under Saddam Hussain.

The USA has been vociferously campaigning for banning and. Non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, but it was she who used nuclear weapons first in the 2nd World War when she dropped Atomic Bombs in Nagasaki and Hiroshima of Japan in 1945.

All these are the fulfillments of the maxims, “Might is Right” and “Boss is always Right”. But as an individual, I believe that the USA and her allies will never win the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. The USA only laid death traps for the people of many races.

The present Elite government in Afghanistan had complained that the country had been ruled by the minority Talibans with dictatorial powers. But now the government has been handed over to them, so if they possess the ability of good governance, why can’t they rule Afghanistan without the support of USA and her allies? Likewise, the present Elite rulers of Iraq complained against the Saddam Hussain’s minority dictatorship. Now, Saddam Hussain has been dethroned and put in dungeon, then why can’t the present rulers of Iraq rule with their majority people without the support of the armies of USA and her allies??

Withdraw the Armed forces of USA and her allies from Afghanistan and Iraq and let us see who are the qualified and legitimate rulers.

The foregoing statements are purely my personal views and opinions and in no way reflects the views and opinions of the organization and government in which I work.
