Is excess employment in Nagaland Government due to political patronage? Give Reasons

•    Yes, however in other words, excess employment means lack of output comparing to the manpower employed. But in Nagaland, output is nil in almost all the fields of government. So we better sort out the issue of less/no output and manpower utilizations on priority, so then excess employment can be justified because drastic unemployment problem is also root cause of all the corruptions.

•    It's an open secret that prearranged number of government posts is distributed among ministers & MLAs as 'quota' before being advertised (or not). Such is the level of graft in Nagaland. If check carefully, one will discover many never-heard-before departments with almost wrecked office buildings where employees are seen once a month to process salary work. Such is the state of administrative efficiency. Back door appointment and administrative dormancy suck the public exchequer dry and deprived people of services and harm state economy and development.

•    Due to promise made by candidate during election.

•    Yes, but need to consider other factors, too, like, in Nagaland there's no factory, no industry no big private enterprises where people can be employed, no firms, no nothing etc Where to go? Or what to do? People are left with few options:

a.    Get government job through exam or connection in the system.
b.    Go outside the state in search of job, as there is few job left in Nagaland, that also in private.
c.    Join underground or get involved in black business i.e. into drugs and alcohol and others.
d.    Of course, excessive government jobs are because of political patronage. We can't deny that, but our Nagaland economy is only salaried economy, nothing else.

•    Yes. Until and unless the system change and we the public stand for the truth. We cannot tackle the corruption in Nagaland.

•    Yes, candidates had to please those people who had help or supported him to win the election so it becomes a obligation on the part of the minister to give back their appreciation by giving government jobs to his people or a bond is signed between the candidates and people before election that if he is voted to power he had to give jobs to his voters. So in conclusion I think political patronage is the main cause of excess of employment of government jobs in Nagaland.

•    Obviously political connections are also a reason for excess employment, but the common people are also responsible. The public in general are so worried that their sons and daughters might not get job after completing their studies, so the only option is to look for someone who has political connection, whether its director, HOD, etc.
