ISRN conducts health camp in Peletkie village

Peren, March 31 (MExN): Health camp was conducted at Peletkie village under Peren district on March 29 by Indian Social Responsibility Network (ISRN), the Sub Awardee of Momentum Routine Immunization Transformation and Equity. 

The health camp was conducted with an aim to promote good health while preventing severe illness and pain, stated a press release received here. 

In a short programme, Dr Chapkekilakbo Dailiam, VCCM (UNDP) spoke on the importance of getting vaccinated and the benefits of vaccination. He said that vaccine decreases the severity of illness due to COVID-19 and reduces the chances of hospitalization. He also said that it is the most effective tool to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection, and in order to contain the COVID-19pandemic it is important for all ages to get vaccinated. 

Dr Michael Tetseo, MO Jalukie CHC highlighted the importance of COVID vaccination. Rubbishing the misconceptions associated with vaccines he stated, “COVID vaccine is the key reason as to why we seeing reduction in cases today”. He informed the participants that getting vaccinated can avoid hospitalizations, hereby lessen financial burden, and appealed the villagers to focus on healthy lifestyle to avoid diseases like hypertension and diabetes too. Furthermore, in an open discussion with the participants on matters of misconceptions with vaccines, the resource person clarified the wrong information which has been circulated in social media. 

The health camp was attended by Pro Rural team, District Coordinator ISRN, staffs from CMO office. Several villagers mainly Women and Children of Peletkie Village availed the facilities provided during the health camp.
